Master percussionist/singer and Grammy winner, Omar Ledezma, is the timbalero and congero with the internationally acclaimed Pacific Mambo Orchestra. Omar Ledezma Jr. was born in Caracas, Venezuela.

Upon receiving The North American Scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Omar moved to the United States, where he enjoyed studying music and staying busy in the New York and Boston Latin scenes, where he worked with several internationally recognized artists and became one of the founding members of the Grammy-nominated La Clave Secreta. Omar is a pioneer of promoting Venezuelan music in the United States through his work with major Venezuelan artists Aquiles Baez, Gonzalo Grau and Jackeline Rago. In 2013, Omar won a Grammy for “Best Latin Album” with his recording on the first Pacific Mambo Orchestra album, PMO. Omar currently teaches percussion at the SF Community Music Center and is a percussion accompanist with the San Francisco Ballet’s Dance in Schools and Communities (DISC) program. He also founded the Ka-Hon Ensemble for the San Francisco Symphony’s “Adventures in Music” program
